Type Locality and Naming

By Mount Karaul Tepa, upper reaches of the Gavasay River, southern slope of the Chatkal Ridge. S.V. Litovchak et al., 1985.

Synonym: Karaultin Suite, Караулатинская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Gray crystalline limestones with interlayers of crinoidal, brachiopod varieties, as well as microgranular dolomites. In the upper part of the suite, more layered limestones with nodules, lenses of flint on the surfaces of bedding. Thickness 240-260m.

Overlies conformably on the Aktash Fm

overlain conformably by the Chukurchak Fm
